Legal Action
In the event of you wishing to take legal action to resolve an issue or an incident relating to your employment, or your being advised to do so by the Law Express helpline, your first course of action MUST be to contact the PGA Office in London. Once your intent is registered, you will be sent a form asking you to outline the situation you are facing and the proposed legal course of action you wish to take. Once this is received, the decision on whether or not the Association can fund the case will be made by a panel. The panel will include the Association’s solicitor, Mariel Irvine, and will be based on an assessment of the probability of the action being successful. This step replicates the decision making process that our previous insurer used to take. Should the funding for your proposed action be approved, the Association’s solicitor will manage the process from that point on .
All legal matters are privileged and will be dealt with in confidence.
Solicitor’s attendance at a police station
In the event of your being taken to a police station in relation to an employment related issue and requiring the presence of a solicitor, you should telephone:-
07900 882263
Contacting this number will result in an experienced local solicitor being contacted on your behalf and instructed to attend the police station to assist you.
